What vegan foods are high in protein low carbs? As a huge condiment fan myself, I am always on the hunt for a really delicious and healthy vegan sauce that I can transform my dishes with. I am also trying to increase my protein intake, so having the added protein in a condiment is hugely beneficial to me as I stick to my workout routine with my goals in mind.

  • The first ingredient for a low carb vegan protein is tofu. You can purchase a soft tofu which you can blend to liquefy it. For a tofu condiment, you can make tofu mayonnaise. Simply add aquafaba, dijon mustard, vinegar and lemon juice with the soft tofu in a blender to make a delicious mayonnaise.
  • A great pesto that is high in protein but low in carbs is a spinach and walnut pesto that I like to make. To make a delicious low-carb pesto, mix green olives with basil, olive oil, spinach, and walnuts. You can have this with a salad; I like to add it to beetroot, tomatoes and spring onions.
  • Peanut butter is also surprisingly low in carbs and very high in protein. You can mix Peanut butter with soy sauce, syrup and water to make a delicious peanut butter sauce.

How to get 50 grams of protein a day vegan?

Using low carb vegan protein sources, you can achieve 50 grams of protein a day as a vegan.

There are 24g of protein in one block of soft protein and 25g of protein in 100g of peanut butter. If you add the peanut butter sauce and the tofu mayonnaise using an entire block of tofu in two separate meals, you will achieve the 50g of protein for the day.

For a low carb protein powder, I did find Low Carb vegan protein – chocolate shake but I wouldn’t buy it as it has ingredients such as xantham gum which is not good for your digestive system long term.

To have a more healthy alternative, I would suggest Pea Pulsin as pea protein is naturally low in carbs, and I know that this protein powder is organic, which is great for your body as there are no nasty chemicals that could cause cancer or digestive issues long term.
